I do love a heel, but flats are my absolute go-to shoes. Loafers, slingbacks, ballet flats, you name them.
Fun fact, did you know that loafers and ballet flats have been a fashion staple for more than a century? Ballet flats went from being ballet gear only to becoming a fashion must-have in the early 1900s. As for loafers, originally designed only for men, they quickly turned into women’s shoes as well, as so many women were buying and wearing boys’ sizes!
Personally, whether I am running errands or moving around the city for meetings and shootings I know that flats will make me look chic and, most importantly, they won’t slow me down.
The same goes if I need to quickly go from desk to cocktails; then I usually pick a pair with a pointed toe or maybe one with a big bow or a classy buckle on top for a sophisticated twist.
Today I am wearing a woven pair of loafers with pretty tassels, together with my favourite boot-cut jeans and a cosy knit.
