Red Shoes: Why We’ll All Be Wearing a Pair… & My Picks

It’s all about red shoes this Summer, and I’m here for it.

Red has always been a staple in my wardrobe in some shape or form- it’s a timeless, bold colour that makes any outfit feel a bit more Parisian- it doesn’t matter if it’s a bag, a pair of shoes or lipstick.

But I know it can be quite an intimidating colour to add to an outfit. My tip is to pick a specific red hue that’s flattering and feels right for you by looking at your skin’s undertone. There are warm, orangy and olive-toned reds, like Scarlet and Vermillion red, and there are reds with slight bluish and purplish undertones like Crimson and Carmine red. Generally, the first group of reds works better for those with warmer skin undertones, and the second group tends to look better on those with cooler skin undertones. Once you find the perfect red hue, start incorporating little red details in your outfits – it could be a red, vintage-looking cap in an all-denim outfit or a chic pair of red shoes!

And this season, we’ll be seeing a lot of red shoes going about – flats, heels, slide-ons… So I thought I’d share my current favourites from my wardrobe as well as a few others I’m lusting over. You can find my selection in this article here!

xx,
