Making My Dreams A Reality

Created in partnership with kikki K.

Coming from a journalism background means that I’m a real visual person- to do lists, memos, notes and planners are all things I love. I still insist on using a paper diary (a phone calendar just isn’t as fun) and I’m a real stationery fan. One thing I’ve decided to do this year was inspired by Kristina Karlsson’s book ‘Your Dream Life Starts Here’ and so I’ve started writing down my dreams on paper in order to action them. Hopefully, it’ll set me on the path to making my dreams a reality.

2019 has been a big year for us so far and 2020 promises to be even bigger; building work on a new home and some fun work projects in London are all happening already and as we move into next year, Honor turns two (gosh that’s gone quickly!) and I’ll be putting my interiors hat on and turning our new house into the dream family home. I can’t wait.

With work as busy as ever for Mackenzie and I, our little girl getting used to a new country AND a brand new interiors project to get stuck into, it would be easy for me to feel like I was taking on too much at once. This is where dream journaling has been so brilliant. I find if I write down all my plans and goals for the weeks, months and years ahead then I have a clear idea of where I’m going and it gives me a renewed sense of confidence. kikki.K stationery has everything you could want for all sorts of journaling needs and I’m like a kid in a candy shop on their website. They have planners, diaries, journals and notebooks in an array of pretty colours as well as sticky notes (I can really get through those fast), bookmarks, pens and gifts. I’m completely obsessed. It’s the kind of place where you’d go to buy one thing and end up with a basket full of goodies for you and all your stationery loving friends.

Writing down your dreams and goals doesn’t come naturally to everyone- you need to really put aside some time to do it but I’ve noticed a clearer mind and an invigorated sense of purpose quite quickly. There’s something very wintery and cosy about taking your journal (be it a dream, mindfulness, inspiration or gratitude journal) to a coffee shop and watching the world go by while you make your plans for the year ahead. Add a hot chocolate and a napping toddler you’ve got a heavenly afternoon. Shop my favourite kikki.K items below and let me know how you get on with making your dreams a reality. It’s definitely worth a try!
