How To Style Your Bedroom With Vintage Accents

If you guys follow me on Instagram, you might’ve seen some sneak peeks on my stories of Mackenzie and I moving into our new home. We had a massive month of renovations right before the holidays, and are just now finishing up the final touches. It’s finally starting to feel real! One of the first rooms that I wanted to really nail down in terms of design, was our bedroom. Nothing feels more like home than curling up in your own bed at the end of a long day, and feeling totally comfortable and relaxed. Read about how turning your bedroom into a sanctuary can help you catch some quality zzz’s, here.

It’s crazy how quickly your style can change over the years – I’ve always found this to be true with clothing, but also for home decor. When styling our new bedroom, I wanted to go with a timeless look that I wouldn’t want to chuck in two years from now. What better way to do that than with classic vintage pieces that are still just as relevant today as they were decades ago? I’m obsessed with Hollywood Regency style pieces, particularly these campaign nightstands and dresser from Chairish. They’re solid and masculine, with a touch of cool gold hardware that adds some style to them. Pieces like these (though they can be pricey), are heirlooms that will stay in your family for generations – and will never go out of style.

I also added a touch of vintage-meets-boho charm with these Turkish kilim pillows, in a gorgeously neutral and slightly faded color. Plus, with neutral bedding the vintage furniture really pops in the room. Personal items like this vintage jewelry box, wedding photos in old picture frames, plenty of our favorite books, and cool vintage ash trays as jewelry catch-alls are all fun homey touches that really make the space feel like ours. If you’re stumped on how to decorate your bedroom, go for a neutral color palette, and invest in vintage furniture like nightstand, side tables, dressers, or even old lounge chairs. These pieces add so much character to the space that you really don’t need much else. Head to your local flea market and pick up some fun trinkets to put on display, and never forget fresh flowers. Voilá! What do you guys think?

Loving the way you have decorated and designed your room, looks very cosy as well as stylish! Also the warm colours make the room a place where you can spend lots of time in as it creates a huge sense of homeliness.

  2. I just adore the way you combined the modern and the vintage pieces, bringing it together makes your bedroom look fabulous. Love the leather chair. 🙂
