I love the impact of the monochrome look. Whites and creams are timeless; these shades never date and will brighten up your closet (and life – I love crisp cream tones in my home too!) forever. One of my favorite style moments – ever – is an image of Lauren Hutton, shot in the 1970’s. She’s sitting on a park bench in a stunning white coat, staring down the lens. So simple, but so flawless and striking. Which is exactly what wearing an ‘all white everything’ look can do…make people stare! That retro photo was my inspiration for this look. This St John fur vest, tunic, and pant reminded me of Lauren’s, so I kept the whole palette matching, and added some cute shades with a transparent frame, for a modern twist. The lines of every piece are clean, the fabrics are all thick and luxurious, and the trousers are tailored beautifully: I love a front-pleat and a slight flare to make you look longer and leaner! I enjoy being influenced by women of different eras and taking a leaf from their outfits to make them my own: try playing around with your style by collecting old pictures. I have a file of them on my desktop that I frequently visit for inspo. White on white is going to be huge for Fall and Winter this year, time to bring out your inner ice queen.
