After a week of prepping, fitting and accessory shopping, the Oscars turned out to be exactly as magical as incredible as I hoped! Even a little LA drizzle couldn’t get Hollywood down, and I had the best time interviewing stars on the red carpet. (Seriously, what a year for fashion. Those gowns!) Here’s a quick look behind the scenes at my day leading up to the Academy Awards.
9am: I’m getting ready for the Oscars red carpet at the Roosevelt Hotel with the Access Hollywood team, we’ve worked together for three years now, so they’re like family! Once I get my giant dress there, it’ll be time for glam!
10am: We decided upon an edgier look: a midnight blue smoky eye and slicked back, wet-look hair. (Perfect for today’s rain, too!)
1pm: I put on my Monique Lhuillier gown, which is surprisingly comfy, my Alexandre Birman strappy sandals, House of Harlow clutch, jewelry courtesy of Bluefly and its time to hit the red carpet! On the way I see a few cops and can’t resist snapping this pic!
2pm: We are rolling! The stars roll up and I’m impressed with how many risk-takers there are. Emma Stone has a beautiful Great Gatsby-esque hair style, a coral lip, and a stunning Elie Saab gown. Julianne Moore’s black and white Chanel Couture apparently took almost 900 hours to make! And my favorite of the night, Gwyneth Paltrow’s pale pink Ralph and Russo, with a giant rose on the shoulder. Gorg!
5pm: I finish reporting from the ‘princess tower’ overlooking the red carpet. (Giving Bradley Cooper a kiss before I go ;).)
6pm: Time for the after parties! I switch into a fun purple printed Monique Lhuillier gown, Nicholas Kirkwood heels and Baublebar earrings. I watch the Oscars with friends at InStyle’s party and finally get to eat a big meal! Paella and roasted veg, followed by chocolate peanut butter popcorn… yum! Then it’s off to Elton John’s party down the road. But I’m Cinderella tonight and have to be in bed by midnight, I’m getting up at 3am to give my fashion hits and misses on The Today Show…
I guess I’ll sleep next week some time, haha!
