I love a glowy no-makeup makeup look in the summer but to achieve that, it’s essential to protect your skin from the sun and the dryness, sunburn and dark spots that can come with it. These are my top tips to do just that and to give your skin the love it deserves this summer.
1. Sunscreen is essential (duh!) – not just when you’re sunbathing but anytime you leave the house. This is my fave at the moment, very lightweight and fresh. Opt for a non-comedogenic cream with SPF 30 or higher- you’ll be protecting your skin from those harmful UVA and UVB rays without clogging your pores. And when summer is over and the air gets chillier, I use this heavier, more nurturing moisturiser with SPF that will also protect your skin from the blue light of our screens.
2. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Drink lots of water and use hydrating serums, moisturisers, and face masks. I also love to spray facial mists when my skin gets dry and I am on the go, this one is currently in my handbag.
3. If you are anything like me and prefer lounging in the shade but still want your skin to look sun-kissed, then try a tanning serum or oil. I am obsessed with this self-tan face serum and body serum – both are collagen-enhancing and will make your skin glowy and firm too! Here’s how I apply it.
