This Season’s Cosiest Sweaters

As the evenings become colder and the chill in the air seems to be less and less forgiving, I know it’s time to take inventory of my closet. When it comes to the weather at this time of year, one word comes to mind: sweaters. This season’s cosiest sweaters are the key to staying warm (but still chic) and they are my ultimate must have for a chilly day. They are so versatile and can be paired with just about anything. I absolutely love the concept of being stylish but still warm enough. Nothing screams holiday spirit more than the large collection of sweaters I’ll be wearing on repeat during the upcoming festivities.

When deciding on the perfect sweater, I always believe the cosier the better. Even the most daunting tasks you have planned for the day are totally doable if you are warm and bundled up. Luckily for us, there are so many different types and styles to choose from. From a heavy cable-knit or chunky turtle-neck to a polished ribbed sweater, the list goes on and on and so does my ever-growing closet wish list!

I absolutely love tucking a sweater into a pair of jeans for a day running errands (and there’s a lot of that in December!) or throwing on a sweater with a skirt is a perfect look for the office. A chic knit over a dress is a great look for all of the holiday parties to come- I love the idea of not having to stress about what to wear for all of the upcoming events and celebrations. Putting a collared top underneath (I love a peter pan collar or a scalloped edge) gives a sweater a different look so you can mix and match colours to create new looks.

Tip: Because sweaters are all different, make sure to be careful when washing them. Some may need to be hand-washed while others need to be air-dried. We don’t want any shrunken or snagged sweaters! Look after them and they’ll last you for years to come.
