When I was younger I went through a phase of wanting to move to the French countryside and have a lavender farm. In this fantasy I rode a bicycle with a basket full of fresh bread and cheese and wore the most beautiful selection of broderie anglaise blouses, which were all handmade and sold at the local market….obviously. In LA, my landscape is a little different but my love of broderie shows no signs of dwindling. It’s a big trend every Summer and so, inspired by my teenage daydreams, I’ve put together a selection of my current choices, which you can shop below.
Broderie anglaise (literally meaning English embroidery) is very traditional in its style- a simple white broderie blouse is so classically beautiful- but I love how modern it has become. You can now find it on everything from t-shirts to sneakers and wedding dresses. It’s perfect for sunnier seasons as it’s cooler than lace but can be just as elegant. No vacation suitcase is complete without some delicate white broderie tops- so chic with some denim cut offs and sandals and it always makes me think of romance (in Provence of course).
Shop White Broderie
If your Summer wardrobe is already bursting with white tops then there are some amazing, brightly colored options that will work just as well with denim, with white or with a matching co-ord! I really can’t wait to wear these all Summer.
