How To Style A Midi Skirt For Summer

I realized the other day, my midi-length skirt collection is growing. I’m drawn to them. There’s something so ladylike, but still cool and modern, about a floral midi skirt and sneakers, a polka dot midi skirt swishing over slouchy suede boots, or a denim midi – with big tortoiseshell buttons down the front, and old-school loafers. I’m referencing some of my favorite recent daytime looks, and I can’t wait to make up more outfit combinations with these skirts, when the seasons change.

Whenever it’s hot, a midi skirt and tucked-in tee is the easiest outfit you can put together. You don’t have to think about it, it takes two seconds to put on and if you have a collection of cute, colorful skirts (like my new discoveries below) then a white top and some sandals is all you need to add. Easy! For a twist on evening elegance, a silk midi skirt and top with a peplum top (Reformation does my favorites, I just bought this one) can look extremely smart when dressed up with a pair of heels and stacked jewelry. For me, when i’m choosing which skirt to buy, the swishier the better. I’m a sucker for a bit of a pretty pattern. Add your favorite sunhat and straw bag and you’re halfway to vacation mode already…
