If you’re following me on Instagram, you might’ve seen my recent trip to Atlanta for a few days. It had been my first visit to the city (they definitely call it ‘Hotlanta’ for a reason!), but I’d always wanted to go. I was excited to try the food, meet the locals, and to attend a fun fashion event there.
I curated a show and participated in a Q&A event with Atlanta Apparel, which is one enormous wholesale fashion tradeshow that occurs several times throughout the year in Atlanta. Thousands – and I mean thousands – of vendors attend each market, and so many brands I love were there. For the Q&A on stage, I strolled around all 13 floors of fashion and hand-picked shoes, bags, hats and clothes, to style 6 mannequins head to toe, and talk about upcoming resort trends. I felt like a kid in a candy store picking out looks for my presentation, with so many fun labels, prints and silhouettes to choose from. The trends I highlighted were fruit prints (specifically oranges!), rainbow stripes, woven accessories, gingham, white sunglasses, and of course – polka dots! I’ve been wearing them all Summer long, and after seeing all the polka dots at Atlanta Apparel, I had to rock this dress immediately afterwards. What I love the most about polkadots is how easily they transcend seasons. I’ll be sporting this dress with a leather jacket and thigh high boots come Fall and Winter.
At Atlanta Apparel, I got to take a peek at so many different polka dot styles, ranging from dresses to paper-bag pants, and bags. Definitely keep them on your shopping list! Thanks Atlanta, I’ll definitely be back – hopefully for longer next time, I still need to try the BBQ…
