How To Get The Best Night’s Sleep Ever

In all honesty, I’m a really bad sleeper. I tend to sleep very lightly, I’ve always woken up a handful of times every night, and my mind is always whirring. Getting a good night’s sleep is crucial to me being able to keep up with my hectic schedule, along with healthy eating habits, and keeping up with a regular exercise regimen. Not to mention the fact I’m often jetlagged, which doesn’t help either! If my sleep falls off, everything else suffers. I’ve found a few remedies over the years that help me a great deal (read this blog post about how to turn your bedroom into a cozy sanctuary), but none quite come close to my latest discovery.

I heard about the Sleep Number mattress through a friend who has one with his boyfriend, and said that he was finally sleeping soundly for the first time in years. Since we were moving house, I did some serious research for Mackenzie and I, and was instantly convinced. It has DualAir technology rather than inner-springs, so it adjusts to the level of firmness on both sides: so each of us can set it to our preferred Sleep Number setting. You can lift the head side to read, and lift the feet end for added comfort – I sound like I’m nerding out about this bed because I totally am – it’s changed my life! I also thought it was so cool that it can track your sleep quality by sensing your movements. These days there are tons of sleeping apps that help you calculate what time you should wake up based on your sleep cycle, and can even set off your alarm at the optimal time – when you’re in a lighter part of sleep, making it easier to jump out of bed. The Sleep Number mattress can be hooked up to these apps through your smart devices – so awesome.

We’ve been sleeping on the i10 King mattress with the FlexFit 3 adjustable base for a few weeks now, and I’m hooked. Firstly, just being able to have control over the firmness is life changing. It contours to your body, which relieves soreness and stiffness that may make it difficult to fall asleep. Plus, it’s just so comfy that I’m able to drift off much faster. If you’re in the market for a new mattress, I definitely recommend visiting your local Sleep Number store, where they can even find you the best mattress tailored to your sleep issues and needs. We got a memory foam mattress last summer, which still hasn’t broken in to the softness I’d like and gets SO HOT. Really wish we had gone with a different mattress. This one sounds great!
