Trend To Try Now: Wine Stained Lips

I’ve been trying to step out of my normal beauty box lately, and I had screen grabbed this vampy beauty look after all the fall fashion shows earlier this year. There’s nothing sexier than a bold lip, and if you usually like burgundy lips for winter but want to switch it up, you have to try this wine-stained look! It’s very subtle, so it’s fun to experiment with if you don’t like going too crazy with your makeup looks, and my big tip? It goes perfectly with dewy skin and a minimal eye.

Wine-stained lips are so easy to achieve. You’ll need a dark liner, dark burgundy lipstick, and a lighter red colored lipstick. Start by lining your lips, and make sure that the liner is nice and sharp. With a bold lip, it’s important for your lips to be lined perfectly, as any mistakes around the edges can be super noticeable. Next, layer on your dark burgundy color, but don’t go as heavy towards the opening of your mouth. Take a tissue paper and blot just the inside, so that more of your natural lip color shows through. Lastly, take the lighter red color and apply in the lighter area. Feel free to pat lightly with your finger or gently press your lips together to blend ever so slightly, without mixing the two colors.

And remember, make sure to try a more natural eye with this look, to really let the lips shine. I went with a light shimmery eyeshadow and just a touch of mascara to complete my look – no eyeliner. It’s as easy as that! What do you guys think?
