I just found out the most exciting news…I’m going to Paris Fashion Week! Stay tuned for more info on that. Maybe subconsciously, but a couple of days ago I was in a rush to get ready – and threw together a look that I think is quintessentially French. Trench: check. Blue skinny jeans: check. Flats: check. Sometimes it’s nice to switch up the silhouette and fit of your style uniform. For example, in the days surrounding the Golden Globes and the weeks leading up to it, I spent a lot of time in fittings zipping myself into tiny dresses, and spent hours on the red carpet and events in high heels and tight gowns. While it was so much fun and glamorous, I’ve been craving simple, laidback style since!
And check out this chic two-tone messenger bag, designed by my friend India Hicks. It has such a timeless feel to it (but the pop of persimmon lining adds a modern touch), so I paired it with these flats to play on the red. That’s a big style tip, as simple as it sounds: look for items in your closet with the same pop of color, and try combining them with neutrals and jeans. The result can be a pulled together, polished look – even if it really just consists of jeans and a tee.
