My Glam Golden Globes Look

Awards season is officially in full swing, and I kicked it off big time with an amazing weekend at the Golden Globes. Every year I join Access Hollywood on the red carpet to interview all of the stars and check out their gorgeous gowns and makeup looks. It’s such a fun and inspiring way to start the New Year, getting a sneak peek into the style and beauty trends that are to come. Even though I’ve been doing it for years, I still get so excited (and nervous) every time!

I always make an effort to go for a look that is dramatically different from the last time I was on the red carpet, so this year I channeled old Hollywood Glam. This gorgeous one-shoulder gown was designed by my talented friend Monique L’huillier – I love the way the fabric glistens in the light and drapes into a puddle train.

I used some of my new favorite products from Laura Mercier to achieve my beauty look. I skipped the matte finish and went for glowing skin instead. The Candleglow Luminizing Palette adds highlights and shimmer to my cheeks and browbone, and the Foundation Primer-Protect SPF 30/PA+++ is absolute magic for making my makeup last hours on end. I added lots of smudgy eyeliner and shadow(the Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Sandglow and Amethyst are so gorj), bronzed cheeks, and balanced it all out with a classic nude lip (the Velour Lovers Lip Colour in Sensual is my new fave!). To hold everything in place I used the Translucent Loose Setting Powder right before running out onto the red carpet, as my makeup has to last for 5 hours of being in front of the cameras! I absolutely loved the final look – I felt so glamorous and retro, with a modern twist. Shop the products that I used below!

    Dear Louise
I just admire your insight and love the look you posted for the Golden Globes. My husband has been invited to the Oscars and I’m his guest. I’m so excited to be attending, but have no idea what type of gown to get for this incredible occasion. We are a very simple family, his career in advertising/marketing allows him access to amazing events. Any advice you could toss my way would be greatly appreciated.

    Gail
