I know it sounds cliche, but breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. Fortifying your body with wholesome and clean food helps you stay full, focused, and is a great way to get summer-shape ready. I’ve shared a few of my favorite breakfast recipes with you (including a skin brightening green smoothie I still love), and now I’m excited to share my newest blend: the delicious and slimming power smoothie. Aside from it’s indulgent taste (it’s got lots of sweet summer peaches) this smoothie is full of vitamins and helpful proteins to satisfy your hunger. Before you turn them into a pie you’ll feel guilty about devouring, try out this recipe and let me know how the day goes! I put this recipe together especially for long days on set, when I’d have breakfast so early I was hungry again by 10am. The ingredients are yummy, nourishing and full of protein to fill you up. Result!
1 tablespoon almond butter
1/4 cup rolled oats
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon ginger
1 cup your choice of milk (I used coconut!)
1 teaspoon agave syrup (optional)
Step 1: Add all ingredients (except honey) to blender and puree on high until smooth. Taste. If more sweetness is needed, add honey.
Step 2: Pour into glass and garnish with oats and cinnamon. Enjoy immediately!
