Step 1: Gather your ingredients. You’ll need Mezcal, Cocchi Americano — which is an Italian aperatif wine, honey, a grapefruit and a lime, a pinch of salt, seltzer and ice. If you’re feeling extra fancy, make ice ahead of time in a mold for oversize cubes or round ones. It’s a great touch to make your cocktail look perfect, and the size of this oversize ice melts slower and doesn’t dilute drinks as much!
Step 2: Stir 1 ounce mezcal with 1 1/2 teaspoons of honey until dissolved. (Sidenote: how perfect are these glasses for Halloween cocktails? I love the gold band at their top, and the dark illustrations on their bases are a fun surprise for your guests to discover when they reach the bottom of your drink!)
Step 3: Add 1 1/2 ounces Cocchi Americano, 1 ounce fresh grapefruit juice, 1/2 ounce of fresh lime juice and a pinch of salt.
Step 4: Add ice, 1 1/2 ounces of seltzer and a grapefruit peel as garnish. Then enjoy!
Happy Halloween, guys!
