It’s hard to believe that in the 8 years that I’ve lived in LA, I never made the trip out to the famous El Matador beach in Malibu until recently. There are so many beautiful beaches here that I’d never ventured there, but Mackenzie and I finally visited on a weekend trip out to Soho House, and it was even more picturesque than I’d imagined. It’s a little strip of coast tucked away below the cliff with the most amazing rock formations littering the beach – so much so that people were literally queuing to take pictures in front of them (typical LA!).
The dress I’m wearing here in Malibu I’ve had for a while now, but it has recently resurfaced as a favorite of mine. I love everything about it from the cut and flowing skirt to the peach paisley print. I especially love how it looks with a tan! In my eyes, paisley prints, especially a more subtle one like this, look effortlessly pretty and feminine, and have a boho flair that I’m always a fan of. Paisley is relatively timeless too, which is always a winner. Even with their retro vibe, these prints were still prominent in many of the 2017 runway collections, including the likes of Tory Burch, Acne, and Etro.
A chic paisley maxi dress is such a great way to wear the boho look without having to go full Coachella, and so much more elegant. It’s the perfect nod to the trend while still looking modern and chic. I styled mine with some stacked delicate gold jewelry and flat sandals by the beach, but added a pretty bag and heels for hanging at Soho House. You guys know I’m a sucker for a versatile piece!
