How To Wear ‘Off Duty’ Style

I’m currently in England visiting family, and the weather has been beautiful as far as English summers go. I’ve been going on country walks with my parents, cooking with Mum (did you guys see us make Coronation Chicken on my Insta stories?), and catching up with old friends at the pub. When the sun shines in the English countryside, it’s unbeatable – full of charm, bright flowers, and refreshing glasses of Pimms.

Long Summer days call for floral dresses or shorts – but when I still want to look presentable (and not sloppy). I call it ‘off duty’ dressing. Boyfriend jeans are often my go-to for casual dressing, especially in white. Keeping your color palette neutral is the key, so I love them paired with a warm solid colored tee (and matching shoes), like this one in a dusty brick red.

I just published a blog post on my favorite slides (read it here), and as I mentioned, I really am obsessed with them this season. They’re the easiest throw-on-and-go shoes, and they’re a little more dressed up than sneakers or flip flops so I can still wear them to a lunch meeting with a colleague. Another go-to accessory this season? A straw tote. They’re easily dressed up or down – they make an epic beach bag, but they also can be worn out to drinks in Summer. What’s your favorite way to style an off-duty look?
