The Perfect Picnic Outfit

Created in partnership with Walmart.

We’ve been enjoying picnics as much as possible over the last few weeks. Whenever the sun is out, we’re out and I love a homemade picnic with all sorts of treats in it. All this al-fresco eating has led me to create the perfect picnic outfit: colourful, summery and comfortable as well as weather prepared. The importance of comfort is second only to the importance of the right sandwich filling. Shop the components of the perfect picnic below, all from Walmart Fashion and get outside as soon as the sun comes out.

I got so many questions about this dress when I wore in recently on my IGTV. It’s cotton so it’s not too hot if it’s sunny and it’s so comfortable; a really easy shape to wear all summer, dressed up or down. For a picnic I’m pairing it with simple white sneakers like these but you could definitely swap those for a low heel or a mule if you want to be a little dressier or something higher for the evening. Then comes the all important cold weather addition- there’s bound to be a breeze about so a slouchy jumper or cardigan is essential. With this dress I went for the same shade as one of the stripes to pull the look together; choosing one of the darker colours creates a nice contrast. Add some simple gold earrings and a good sized basket and you’re sorted. The perfect picnic outfit, all from Walmart Fashion.
