Wearing florals in Fall is something I’ve done a lot on the blog before – I love it! It’s a fun and unexpected way to bring some pattern into your Autumn wardrobe, but it’s also a great way to reuse your clothes from season to season. Believe it or not, those floaty floral dresses you were wearing in Spring and Summer can absolutely be worn in Fall and Winter with the right layers and accessories. You might not immediately think of a floral midi skirt (like this one) to be a cold weather item, but when layered with a chunky sweater (and tights with knee high boots if it’s much colder where you live!), it’s actually a great way to brighten up your Autumn style.
The trick to wearing Fall florals is simple – if you’re wearing a lighter colored piece that you would’ve worn during the height of summer, style those pieces with lighter colored knits and accessories (like this sweater and tan leather bag that I’m wearing) rather than black leather or outerwear. The light colors will compliment your floral piece much more, and won’t feel so heavy overall. Another great way to wear florals in Fall is to go for darker floral prints, that may have a black base to the pattern, or rich dark reds that are perfect for the holidays. These darker prints tend to go much better with your dark outerwear and accessories. I’ve curated a versatile selection of my favorite floral pieces that are perfect for this season and beyond – just click below to shop!
