I’m so lucky that part of my job is to attend award shows and host the red carpet. Each show is so unique, from the fashion to which celebrities I interview – it’s such a treat that is never lost on me no matter how many times I do it. This year the Emmy’s was even more of a special occasion for me. It was the first time I walked the red carpet with my baby bump! While the bump was by far my favorite accessory, I have to tell you guys about the jewelry I wore by Marco Bicego. I felt like such a princess, topping off my tiered lace Adeam dress with the most gorgeous pieces from Marco Bicego’s Jaipur Link collection, which was flown into town for me all the way from Italy! It truly made me feel so special.
I’m totally obsessed with this collection, which features a plethora of beautiful pieces made from varying sizes of 18K gold links and finished with hand engraving. It’s matte gold, which I love, especially for the red carpet as it’s something a little different from the array of shiny jewels that is typical on the red carpet. To keep with the theme of texture, I paired my ring, bracelet and earrings with these fun Stuart Weitzman pearl-embellished shoes and this lace dress (thank you SO much to everyone who voted on my Instagram for helping me to come to a decision on which dress to wear – I think you made a great choice!). The pearls, the lace and the matte gold textures ended up working so well together, with the jewelry in particular providing a richness and contrast that I love – it makes a look so much more interesting by giving different dimensions.
The jewelry was what I had in mind for the focus of this look so I knew that regardless of which dress I ended up wearing I wanted to go for clean and slicked back hair to show it off as much as possible. So, we went for a straight and deep side part with my hair scraped into to straight ponytail at the nape of my neck. For makeup, we kept it warm with golds and bronzes to compliment the yellow gold of the jewelry. I was so happy with how this look came out.
