How To Transform Feminine Summer Pieces

Girly is back, and in full force! I’m so excited to see such feminine details all over this season – lots of girly florals, ruffles, tiers, bold colors, A-line silhouettes, and so on. Unlike the androgynous minimalism we’ve seen in recent years (which I still love, but need a break from!), this year’s girly vibe is back with a cool-girl flair. Instead of styling a feminine summer dress with Christian Louboutin pumps, its white sneakers, maybe even with a leather or denim jacket draped over – and of course some badass aviators to boot.

One of my favorite trends this Summer is taking a very feminine piece and transforming the look into an edgier, laidback vibe. Particularly, girly dresses and rompers styled with more masculine pieces like a boyfriend denim jacket, Vans or Converse, leather jackets, and chunky sunglasses.

My dear friend Millie Mackintosh has designed some amazing pieces for her Summer collection (you’ve seen me wearing her gingham design here), and you can see us wearing some of my favorite pieces from her line above (shop the white dress here, and the floral dress here). Going off this girly-yet-cool vibe that I’m currently obsessed with, I’ve curated some of my favorite summer pieces for you to try, with some tips on how to wear them. Shop my picks below!

  • Between work trips and house moving, I haven’t had a chance to get to a gym. I really enjoyed my training session with @pvolve the other weekend but the best thing about them is that you can stream the exercises from home, which makes working out in my own time so much easier. Swipe up on my stories for the link and use my code LOUISEROE for 15% off. There’s also free international shipping so you can try their equipment anywhere. #pvolvepartner
  • #ad Getting ready for a biiiig red carpet tonight in London, I’ll be chatting to every star of @skytv’s brand new #SkyUpNext shows... watch my takeover live on @SkyTV’s IG, and plan your sofa entertainment for the rest of 2020! Ps. These shows are epic, I got a sneak peek 📺 🧐

  • I don’t love what the long winter has done to my energy levels & skin! Some of the little changes I made since moving from LA, for winter wellbeing: porridge for brekkie, homemade ginger tea, oversized cosy jumpers and @LumityLife supplements. The morning capsules stop me reaching for a second (or third!) coffee, and the night time vitamins have helped me wind down & sleep better.
