How To Transform Feminine Summer Pieces

Girly is back, and in full force! I’m so excited to see such feminine details all over this season – lots of girly florals, ruffles, tiers, bold colors, A-line silhouettes, and so on. Unlike the androgynous minimalism we’ve seen in recent years (which I still love, but need a break from!), this year’s girly vibe is back with a cool-girl flair. Instead of styling a feminine summer dress with Christian Louboutin pumps, its white sneakers, maybe even with a leather or denim jacket draped over – and of course some badass aviators to boot.

One of my favorite trends this Summer is taking a very feminine piece and transforming the look into an edgier, laidback vibe. Particularly, girly dresses and rompers styled with more masculine pieces like a boyfriend denim jacket, Vans or Converse, leather jackets, and chunky sunglasses.

My dear friend Millie Mackintosh has designed some amazing pieces for her Summer collection (you’ve seen me wearing her gingham design here), and you can see us wearing some of my favorite pieces from her line above (shop the white dress here, and the floral dress here). Going off this girly-yet-cool vibe that I’m currently obsessed with, I’ve curated some of my favorite summer pieces for you to try, with some tips on how to wear them. Shop my picks below!
