A Palm Springs Inspired Summer Party

Summer is upon us, folks! You guys may know that I’m a big fan of vino, and the season of sipping crisp white wine in the sunshine is finally here. I’m so excited to partner with Ecco Domani in showing you guys this limited edition Pinot Grigio bottle designed by Christian Siriano, with a Summer afternoon by the pool – Slim Aarons style!

Slim Aarons is my favorite photographer, and when I saw the new bottle was inspired by retro Palm Springs, I was thrilled! We recently spent our honeymoon in Positano and the bright colors and vibrancy of the people, culture and coastline is so uplifting and inspiring, and totally reminded me of my favorite Slim Aarons work. I wanted to recreate this feeling for our little shindig, and our backyard is the perfect setting: we have a large rustic wooden table, bougainvillea pink everywhere, and of course – a pool to lounge by.

To style this poolside lunch, I went for bright pink and green flowers inspired by the design on the bottle (to read my tips on how to make a Summer flower arrangement like this, click here). For food, I made a simple farmer’s market salad, roasted corn on the cob, and set out a couple Mediterranean nibbles like hummus and pita chips. All the colors are so fresh and inviting, and the bottle ended up looking like part of the centerpiece!

Finally, the drinks – I set out a couple chilled bottles of Ecco Domani’s delish, crisp Pinot Grigio, but wanted to switch it out by also making ‘Clerico’ – a fruity white sangria for the table. This recipe is so easy and delish, you have to try it (full recipe here). To top it all off, I went for a breezy, off-shoulder dress that is totally something you’d see me wear in Palm Springs. Needless to say, our Summer afternoon party was a big success!
