Easter is this Sunday, and I’m so excited to throw a little brunch for my friends in our new home. Every holiday and tradition is so much fun this year, as it’s the first time I’m doing everything as a newlywed. I won’t lie, I’m an independent woman who runs her own company, but I get a huge kick out of being a little domesticated at home with Mackenzie every now and then. I’m not the best cook but I’m learning, and I love entertaining our friends. Serving up cocktails is one thing I can do very well – I’m English after all!
I wanted to make a really simple centerpiece that would be just perfect for Easter brunch – and this one is so easy! Nothing says Easter like tulips, and purple is my favorite shade of them. I have tons of mason jar glasses at home (and chances are you do too, so try this!), and I tied simple, rustic ribbon and twine.
My little trick to making this work is to secure down the ribbon directly to the mason with double sided tape – this way it won’t slip right off. I chopped down the tulip stems quite short, and filled the vases with cold water. It gets them to stand up super straight. Seriously, that’s it! Let me know if you guys try it this weekend, I want to hear how it goes. Cheers!
xx,
Lovely Louise! Loving the tulips. I just arrived back from Amsterdam to Boston and definitely having tulip withdrawals! Great little DIY. You could also play with more delicate ribbons depending on your decor.
