How to Look Hot: My Eveningwear Must-Haves

There are a few key wardrobe pieces I swear by investing in – a white collared shirt, a soft leather jacket, black heels, and a large faced gold watch to name a few. They form the basis of a chic and stylish wardrobe you can build upon. But one staple item that you might not realize you even need, is a leather skirt. They’re great for spicing up your average work attire, wearing with boots and a sweater on the weekend, and of course, they’re perfect for a night on the town – so versatile.

My insider tip for reinventing a wardrobe classic like the leather skirt? Use the app Snap + Style when you’re getting ready for an upcoming event and really want to knock ’em dead. It’s like having your own personal stylist, making bespoke suggestions, answering style queries and sending you pics of cool clothes that will look amazing on you, and even give you ideas that will revamp pieces that you already own, right from your phone. No-brainer!

Instead of constantly shopping for new looks, I like to find key pieces and update what’s in my wardrobe. I’ve worn this classic leather pencil before with a boyfriend tee and sneakers, but I re-imagined it with a glitzy gold blouse, heels and a choker scarf for a cocktail party this week. The talented stylists over at Snap + Style can really help you nail a fun night-out look like this, with tips on fit and color that work best for your body type and skin tone.

My first stylist tip? Black and gold are always a winning duo for eveningwear – it’s a failsafe, timeless color combo that just screams a fun night out, and looks particularly good with dark nails and sleek hair. Gold can easily go too “Vegas”, so keep your look dark and warm by wearing it with brown eyeliner, bronzer, and limited sequins! Another styling tip: take the waist tie from an old blouse or top and use it as a skinny scarf – this one is from one of my old jumpsuits! And how fun is this ice cream clutch? I love adding a conversation starter like this to my look. If you’re stumped on how to make your wardrobe staples feel new for a work event or birthday party, or if you’re looking for a spring wardrobe makeover, just send a pic over to Snap + Style and let them get to work for you on creating the perfect looks.
