There’s something so chic about wearing black from head to toe. It’s flattering, timeless, and never fails to make an entrance. Think Audrey Hepburn in her legendary black sweater, trousers and ballet slippers look! Now for those of you who have followed my fashion advice for a while, I know I’m often saying skip black in favor of color – and whilst I still adore wearing color – I’ve come round to the idea that wearing black can be chic and elegant, too. Wearing all black is a trusty way to get dressed in the morning. If you’re feeling stumped on what to wear, you can always throw on a black tee, black jeans and leather jacket before you jet out the door. But the important thing to remember when wearing black, is to make sure there’s a variety of contrasting texture, and a pop of color somewhere in your accessories.
I styled my new favorite mohair sweater with these loose-fit leather pants and boots, but added a camel brown hat and purse to add some contrast to my look. This color combination is simple but (I think!) sophisticated. Mohair is a fun alternative to cashmere or cable-knit, and I love pairing it with leather for a modern, luxurious feel.
