I love the energy of New York City, the minute I step off of the plane I get goose bumps. You can feel the excitement in the air, it’s the most electric place, with so much happening all at once. Anytime I’m visiting I have to stop by the Flatiron building, it’s my favorite in Manhattan (the Flatiron building was the visual icon representing New York long before the Empire State building was completed). I love to stroll by and grab a coffee right there, before my working day begins…
When I was in New York a few weeks ago, I chose to stick with the classics for this look – the simple black and white stripe is great for a urban, tailored vibe. The striped, silk shirt is a staple this season and paired with the midi black skirt: speaks ladylike and grace. For a retro twist, I added my wide brim floppy hat. It gives just a hint of 70’s, my favorite fashion era. When wearing classic pieces, I always try to throw in something that I feel personalizes the look, (in this case, my hat). It’s fun to conquer certain looks, but always remember to incorporate your own unique style too!
