As much as I love heading out for holiday parties this time of year, I also absolutely love hosting for the holidays, throwing festive get togethers at home. Cold nights spent with family, friends and mulled wine are some of my favorite Christmas memories, and I’m a firm believer that it doesn’t take much more than a cheese board, a bottle of Malbec and some great mates to have the best night!
I recently shot a holiday hosting piece with The Coveteur where I styled both the clothes (including cozy sweaters and PJs from J.McLaughlin, whose Instagram I’m taking over today!) and the entertaining items and shared some of my top tips for a memorable holiday get-together. Tops of my list of hostess advice? Switch things up! Think outside the box and decorate with unique items, like using gift ribbon in place of napkin rings. I balance a bit of quirk and fun with a color scheme, that way, your table looks always looks cohesive.
