I’ve seen checks, stripes and criss-crosses everywhere this fashion week. Sometimes a trend takes off fast, and looking down the front row of the runways here in New York, I’m seeing blogger and editor legs covered in giant check prints. It’s a fun look! Head-to-toe pattern is a favorite go-to for me. (I recently wore the trend, a Mara Hoffman printed suit!)
The oversize gingham on this Marissa Webb two piece was so playful and fun, and I balanced it with a graphic clutch and modern, strappy heels. The square racer front cut of the top was modern and fitted, in total contrast to the playful, voluminous skirt. I like the proportions, it had the effect of making my waist look smaller! Great tip: if you want to try the midriff trend but are and bit afraid to bare that tum, choose a looser, longer crop top, like this one. My stomach only peeked out when I stood up super straight, but when I sat down, it was covered. That made me feel more confident!
