New York Fashion Week is somewhat of a beauty gauntlet. The humidity, pollution and running around all day can play havoc with my skin. So when it comes to beauty, I don’t pack lightly. I take all my failsafe products to keep my skin and nails happy, because somehow in Manhattan, they demand extra attention!
I always carry a few skincare powerhouse treatments, like Kate Somerville’s Dilo Oil Treatment or this bespoke serum custom made for me. For daytime, I’ll mix three to four drops of Clarins Radiance Plus Golden Glow Booster with my daily dose of restorative skin wonders to keep a gentle, healthy glow on my skin.
Jouer Anti Aging Moisture Primer and Lancome Hydra Zen Beauty Balm are brilliant additions to your makeup bag. Primer is pivotal to keeping makeup in place and protecting the skin from toxins in air, and this tinted moisturizer is thin enough to not block pores while providing enough coverage to give you a flawless complexion. I always use a bronzer (love this one from MAC) to give me cheekbone definition — those runway lights are harsh, so this is really helpful if I’m trying to snap a quick pic from the front row!
During fashion week, I change as often as three times a day, and I don’t have time to switch up my makeup look. If you’re similarly busy (during NYFW or your day-to-day), dab a little MAC “Reflects Bronze” Glitter on the eye with a dab just underneath the inner corner. This opens up the eye and gives it a warm sheen that catches the light. It’s perfect for a smooth transition from day to night!
Lastly, I add a little color and sheen by applying Nars The Multiple on my cheek bones and dabbed onto my lips, finished off with a top coat of Lucas Papaw Ointment instead of lipgloss. It’s great for fashion week, or any busy time in your life, because you can keep reapplying it all day and it never gets sticky.
