How To Spoil Your Besties For The Holidays

You guys know that I’m all about girl power. The women in my life are my biggest inspirations, and I always love to give them special gifts over the holidays, to show my appreciation. Though jewelry tends to be thought of as a romantic gift between partners, it’s actually long been one of my favorite things to gift my close friends and family. When I left London for LA, my 3 best friends and I all got matching bracelets to symbolize our bond. Years later, they were my bridesmaids! You can see pics of us together here.

Jewelry lasts a lifetime and gets passed down from generation to generation, so there’s often a deep sentimental value attached to each piece – making it the perfect splurge for someone truly special in your life.

Last year over the holidays I showed you guys some of my favorite pieces from LAGOS (read the blog post here), and they’re my go-to designer for the perfect luxurious gift between besties this year too. It’s such an elegant and thoughtful idea to give your best friend a beautiful piece of timeless jewelry that she’ll cherish forever, and since I’m all about self-gifting during the holidays – you can get the same piece to match her! How to pick? Well, since she’s your bestie, chances are you probably have similar tastes, which makes it so easy to choose. From chunky bangles, to classic hoop earrings, to stackable rings – there are so many pieces from their new Fall line that I’m obsessed with.

For holiday parties this year, I’ll be sporting these pieces from LAGOS’ Black Caviar collection. Black jewelry is so unexpected, and makes any festive outfit look more opulent and elegant. I’m partial to statement earrings this year, so these drop hoops were a no-brainer for me.

For gifting, you can’t go wrong with their 18k Caviar Gold collection. It’s timeless, classic, and everyone looks good in warm yellow gold. My girls will each be getting a special piece from this collection for the holidays (though I don’t want to give away which ones!). I can’t wait to see their faces…

  • Does anyone else own a scrapbook?! 📚🤣If you don't necessarily consider yourself to be an 'artistic' person but still enjoy getting creative, you've got to try scrapbooking! I've been doing it ever since I was young (and even kept a wedding inspo moodboard secret from Mackenzie for a few years before we got engaged, lol) - and it's such a fun, easy way to express yourself. • Happy Mother’s Day!
I want to dedicate this post to one of my dearest friends, who became a Mummy to premature surrogate twins this year, only to tragically lose them a few hours later, as she held them in her arms. My friend had been through years of trying for a baby through IVF, and finally - after years of hope and patience - we all felt her and her husband’s dream of becoming parents was about to come true.
That heart-breaking day also happened to be the date Honor was born, so the poignancy was all the sharper. I still remember the moment I learned the news. My own mum was with me, and we wept silently, hugging.
I fully expected my friend to avoid Mackenzie and I for a while, to deal with her grief. Surely being around a newborn would just be too much. But testament to her angelic, brave character, she asked to come over. I’ll never forget the warmth and love in her eyes as she held Honor tight. She said she was full of hope. She said that the twins would be watching over, helping and guiding them on their continued journey to have a baby.
You’d think that would be enough to focus on, but no. Instead, this wonderful couple decided to set up @pompomsandstardust , a charity not only raising money to help other people have surrogate children, but one that offers crucial (and lacking) advice and support to the ‘IP’s’ (intended parents), along their journey.
If you or your loved ones have been through a difficult time conceiving, my heart goes out to you- I wish you strength, perseverance- and please feel free to share your story below.
The charity website will be up soon with more information, but for now follow @pompomsandstardust 💫
