Mackenzie and I recently spent the most wonderful couple of days at Shutter’s By The Beach in Santa Monica. It was so wonderful to actually be able to take some time for ourselves to unwind and switch off and just spend time together. We spent some time chilling out at the gorgeous hotel and I raced through my current favorite book Party Girls Die In Pearls by the brilliant Plum Sykes – and then we headed for a swanky lunch at an idyllic beachfront restaurant.
I started off in this easy throw-on-and-go linen dress, and I hardly wanted to take it off for the rest of the weekend. I wore it to our lunch date with these snazzy heels, then changed into my trusty white sneakers later on so that we could go explore the beautiful shops and shores of Santa Monica. I even managed a bike ride in this frock! Linen pieces are an absolute go-to for me in the summer, especially on particularly hot day in LA. There’s something about the material that screams warm weather, as it’s so breathable and light. It’s so comfortable, and doesn’t stick to you in the heat the way other materials tend to do. Plus, it’s oh so cute! I love the simple style with the little tie detail on the straps.. so sweet. I’m stocking up on more linen pieces, as they work perfectly for LA’s late Summer heatwaves, and often look great for transitioning into Fall.
