Styling A Coat For Spring

I just love this time of year. It’s the perfect transition between winter and spring – the air is still cool and crisp, but it’s not so freezing that you don’t want to venture outside. I’m definitely a cool-weather fashion type of girl. I just love playing with layers and proportions, and you can’t exactly pull off a layered look in the blistering heat of summer. LA doesn’t stay cold for long, so you really have to bust out all your cute jackets and coats while you can.

I love that this coat is super bright, and thin enough to wear during the day but still keeps me warm at night. I paired it with a striped silk shirt and leather pants (I find this color combo to be pretty striking!). A coat in a solid color like bold red is super versatile. You can add heels to this look to make it more happy hour appropriate, or even throw the coat over a little black dress for date night (studies show that peeps are attracted to women wearing red, so you can be on your date night A-game while still being cozy!).
