3rd Time’s A Charm: My Favorite Bermuda Visit Ever!

Hi guys, I’m writing to you from Bermuda today! What a special and unspoilt place it is. Did you know that Bermuda is only twenty-two miles long and two miles wide? Despite it’s size, there’s plenty to do and see, not to mention the famous pink sand beaches and crystal clear water – heaven!

I visited Bermuda twice when I was a little girl, and it left a real imprint on me, and that’s one of the reasons I wanted to bring Mackenzie back to see it. Having once been a British Colony, there’s a very British feel to this tiny island nation, kind of like a piece of England in the sun! The queen’s face is still on the Bermudian dollar and coin, the road signs are identical to the ones in England, and high tea is an important, observed meal of the day.

We stayed at the newly renovated Rosewood Hotel in Tucker’s Point. I loved its chic, old style decor and antique furniture, making it such a dreamy place to stay. It also has several pools and a beach club (which I must admit we’ve done a good bit of sipping cocktails at so far)!

We rode jet skis to one of Bermuda’s ancient shipwrecks and fed the fish that live in it, which was a little terrifying but also so cool! Then we explored the capital city, Hamilton, which is full of pastel colored buildings and great pubs along the waterfront. We toured the city’s crystal caves, stopping along the way to taste the rum cake, which is their local delicacy. It’s rumored to be so strong that you can get tipsy off it! It’s so strong – kids aren’t even allowed to try it in the store.

I have to say, of all the island’s wonderful characteristics and attractions, the best part of Bermuda is the friendly locals. They’re charming and kind, and everybody chats to everybody. If you ever get the chance to visit this incredible island, it’s worth asking locals for recommendations of their favorite beach – there are hundreds of secret coves tucked away ready to be discovered and go for an adventurous swim in. I already can’t wait to plan my next trip!
