I’m finally recovered from a hectic awards season and a successful Oscars, and wanted to show you guys my full look from the afterparties! The afterparties are sometimes just as fun as the red carpet and ceremony itself. You get to switch into something a little more dance-floor appropriate and have a cocktail (or three) while you wind down from the stress of it all. I was so excited to wear this mesh gown from the bebe, which was basically designed for twirling.
I went to the bebe showroom just days before the Oscars, in a bit of a flurry trying to nail down my afterparty look (last minute, of course!). I tried on 2 dresses from the bebe archives and decided on this flirty black number. This was a piece was never released and the bebe team had it customized just for me, so I felt so special to be wearing it! Since I went for a gold look during the ceremony, I wanted to go for a totally different vibe for the parties. I tousled up my hair, added some extra smokiness to my eyes, and rocked probably the most daring dress I’ve ever worn on a red carpet! I love the criss-cross ribbon detailing on the bodice, and the hip-high slit. Mackenzie definitely appreciated it too!
Because there was already a lot of sexiness going on, I kept the rest of my look clean and simple, with minimal heels and jewelry. The dress really spoke for itself, so I didn’t want to over-accessorize. It couldn’t have been more perfect for the Oscars, which is like the Superbowl of awards season – I definitely wanted to make a statement. Until next time, Oscars!
