Created in partnership with The Venetian Resort Las Vegas and ShopStyle.
This is a particularly special edition of #FrontRoeTravelGuides as Mackenzie and I have just enjoyed a Mum and Dad’s weekend away at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas! We had SO much fun and I’m writing this on our way home to Honor (who we missed a lot). Read on for my Front Roe Travel Guides Viva Las Vegas edition!
Sitting in Nevada’s Mojave desert, Vegas has long been famous for twenty-four hour casinos, vibrant nightlife and elaborate hotels. It literally doesn’t sleep, it’s unlike any city I’ve ever been to in my life…it oozes energy! The Strip (four miles of bright lights) is home to replicas of Venice’s Grand Canal, in the form of The Venetian Resort. For a weekend of fun, you really can’t beat it. I’d been before for work but it was so nice for Mackenzie and I to properly let our hair down.
Where To Stay
The Venetian Resort Las Vegas: Our stay at The Venetian Resort was fab. With the largest suites on the Strip, The Venetian Resort has everything you could possibly want, all within a stone’s throw of the best bars, restaurants and nightclubs. Our suite was gorgeous, with a living room, views over Las Vegas and the comfiest bed. Such a treat. There’s also an enormous pool, spa and fitness centre, and juice bar right by the elevator – I was in heaven!
Where To Eat & Drink
Chica: We stepped off the plane, checked in at VIP (which is an amazing experience: no queues, a beautiful private lounge full of refreshments, and super fast service), and paid a dinner visit to the first Latina chef on the Vegas strip – Lorena Garcia – whose Chica restaurant only opened in 2017. Latin American cuisine is a favourite of mine and Mackenzie’s and we enjoyed the most amazing sea bass and tacos, washed down with a good amount of spicy margaritas!
Black Tap: Perfect for relaxed, casual dining. Black Tap is home to CrazyShake milkshakes (if you saw my Instagram you’ll know why these are so amazing) and they are delicious. If milkshakes aren’t your thing then Black Tap has great burgers and craft beer so everyone is happy – I had a miso glazed salmon salad, which was yum.
sixth+mill: My best friend flew in from LA to surprise me, and we headed out to dinner at this fun Italian spot. Neapolitan pizzas and fresh homemade pasta, with a view of the gondolas.
Bouchon: After a night of cocktails, dancing and a show, we headed to Bouchon for bloody Mary’s , eggs benedict and fresh pastries. Brunch at this classic bistro is a must, not only because the chef Thomas Keller was named America’s best by Time magazine. Breakfast with a French twist is my kind of holiday treat.
Where To Party
The Dorsey: Located in The Venetian Resort’s casino, this bar was voted Best in Vegas by Condé Nast Traveler. Enjoy signature cocktails like the Penicillin whilst dancing away or having a nightcap in front of the Dorsey’s famous fireplace. A club atmosphere without having to leave the resort- perfect for us rather tired parents!
Atomic Saloon Show: Such a brilliant show with acrobatics, aerial stunts, singing and comedy. We had lots of fun at this one.
Where To Relax
Canyon Ranch: The Venetian Resort has its own amazing spa which offers every relaxing treatment including massages, facials, pedicures and special treatments for couples.
Gondola Rides: We finished our weekend with a lovely romantic gondola ride through The Venetian Resort’s Grand Canal; complete with a live opera performance from our classically-trained gondolier… a chance to take in any sights (or photo ops!) that we may have missed. We were thinking very much of the original Grand Canal and everyone in Venice, Italy who has been affected by the terrible flooding.
No matter what time of year, Las Vegas is always a good idea. The Venetian Resort Las Vegas invites you to enjoy an action-packed trip whether it’s with friends, family or your other half. We loved it and I can’t wait to go back!
