Bump Friendly Fashion

Lots of my readers have been asking me for pregnancy-related style advice so here are some bump friendly fashion tips. I’m enjoying searching out brands that are bump friendly but not necessarily maternity and I’ve been buying versatile pieces that I can wear post baby too.  I’m also giving birth during an English summer which can either be constant rain or scorching…so getting pieces that are multifunctional is essential!

Seeing as I shop from lots of different brands, checking out with PayPalUK is a huge time saver. I can complete all my purchases in just a couple of clicks and I don’t have to fill in my address or my card details each time. If I’m doing some quick shopping while Honor is having a nap then I want to get as much done as possible!

The stretchy midi dress has been my best friend over the past few months. A midi length with3/4 sleeves in a flattering colour that goes with everything (I’m loving khaki, brown or black at the moment). I pair it with a trench coat if I’m going out, or a loose fit knit cardigan to stay home. Stretchy fabric is so comfy over the bump and the midi length means it doesn’t get shorter and shorter the bigger the bump gets! If I want to be a bit dressier I add a heeled boot and a big pair of earrings. Another tip is to make the most of your accessories: don’t spend a fortune on maternity clothes you won’t wear for long, but instead shop for my kept pieces and then dress them up with the right jewellery, shoes and scarf.

Maternity jeans I’ve definitely been better with the second time around! I prefer the ones that sit low and don’t have a large elasticated section at the top, which I often find too tight on my big bump. I wear these with a long tee and blazer, or an existing oversized sweater from my wardrobe. The recent cold has meant that bare legs just won’t cut it and a good pair of maternity jeans are an absolute staple. I’ve tried a few and using PayPal at checkout is a very speedy way of giving my wardrobe a quick update for Spring or a quick refresh for the incoming sunshine…all delivered straight to my door. Last tip? Maternity leggings! I bought a multipack and have lived in mine for working out, running errands and (like last night!) watching movies while Mackenzie brings me cheesecake. One of the perks of having the bump…
