One of my favorite parts about my job is being able to travel all over the world, and while I’ve been able to go far and wide, it was one of my goals this year to explore more cities here in the US. I partnered with Autograph Collection Hotels this fall to check out some exciting destinations. One of my favorite things to do is go on a trip with Mackenzie, just the two of us – he’s by far my favorite travel buddy! We’re soaking up as much travel time together as possible before I can no longer fly, and of course before the baby comes in January. This week we got the chance to go somewhere I’ve only been to briefly but never really had the chance to explore – Boston!
The Autograph Collection Hotels invited us to come stay at the gorgeous Envoy Hotel in Boston for an exclusive pre-screening of Zoë Kravitz’ new movie, Gemini. When I saw that the weather was going to be gloomy and cold I was so excited – call me a geek but I love any excuse to get bundled up. I love the East Coast, but have never really spent much time outside of New York. Boston is a beautiful city right next to the sea, with sky scrapers and beautiful bridges – almost like a smaller NYC! When we arrived at the Envoy I fell in love with the decor – it was a touch of old Hollywood glam with a hint of an English country club, with large leather tufted sofas that I drank my coffee on in the mornings.
Our room had the most stunning view of the city skyline, facing the water directly. What a sight to wake up to! After getting in super late on the first night due to delays, we had a lazy morning in bed with this gorgeous view as the backdrop. Then it was time for brunch – we headed down to the Outlook Kitchen and Bar, which had a delish breakfast and brunch menu – plus, a full bar for Mackenzie. I definitely indulged in some pastries every morning, but added in their yummy salads to balance it out!
On our second night we had the chance to attend and be one of the first to see a pre-screening for the new film Gemini, a beautifully shot psychological thriller starring one of my style faves – Zoë Kravitz. It was set up beautifully, and there were tons of delicious snacks to fulfill every preggo craving! The movie itself was a nail-biter – I highly recommend watching it if you love a good mystery. It was so much fun having a quick getaway with Mackenzie for a few days, exploring a new city together, eating yummy food, and getting some much needed sleep! I can’t wait to visit Boston again.
