Fall is quickly approaching, and while late-Summer days are still blessing my hometown of LA with seemingly endless sunshine and warm winds, over here on the east coast things are getting much chillier. Enter my hero piece this fall: the oversized blazer. I fell in love with this one a few weeks ago once I saw them start to trickle into the stores online. As you guys may know, I love a versatile piece with a touch of masculine flair. There’s something so badass about a woman making a piece like this her own!
My favorite of the moment is definitely this oversized plaid blazer by Anine Bing. I love the 90’s plaid and strong shoulders. I can think of very few (if any) occasions for which a blazer like this is not appropriate this Fall, when it’s not warm enough to be going out without a jacket but a winter coat is just too much. From wanting to make a good first impression with a new client, to cycling your way to a catch-up coffee with an old college friend, there is always a suitable way to style your blazer. My current favorite way to wear mine has got to be either with relaxed tee, skinny stonewashed jeans (to keep proportions balanced) and white sneakers, or over a night-out dress like this one. And the best part? The oversized style means there is plenty of room for layering up, which is a must for changeable Fall weather (and my growing tummy, too!).
