Autumn films are a category of their own in my mind. They don’t necessarily have to be set entirely in Autumn; they just need the right combination of homey interiors, great fashion- cosy, of course- old-school buildings, books, and shimmering city lights.
Unsurprisingly, a number of my favourites were made in the late ’80s and ’90s. Perhaps that was the golden age of the Autumn film?
