My Merry Pomander Oranges

The easiest, most delicious, and most fragrant DIY Christmas decoration: pomander oranges.

I make them every year, they are my favourite handmade decorations and are so nostalgic; they bring back many happy memories of past Christmas holidays spent with family.

I like to pierce the orange with a toothpick or a skewer first, (never deeper than the clove itself) so it’s easier to stick the cloves in. Then, I don’t usually go with one pattern, I try different ones – the more diverse the better. To make them look more festive, I wrap them in pretty ribbons.

We usually place them on a bowl at the entrance and in the living room so that their scent blends with the fire’s and creates the cosiest wintery aroma. But they look lovely on the tree too – and make quite the original bauble!
