The Best Coats For Spring

Ok, it’s raining but Spring…is…coming! The best coats for spring work with floral dresses and skirts (I can’t wait to get those out) as well and jeans and boots for the inevitable rainy days. As they’re not padded, you can run errands and pop in and out of meetings all day without completely overheating or having to unwind metres and metres of scarf. I’ve been living in this herringbone belted coat for the past few weeks (my Sherlock Holmes coat) – warm enough for chillier days and the colours go with everything. For Spring, I would invest in a couple of different silhouettes: a classic belted mac, a boucle blazer, a structured overcoat and a boxy leather jacket. Caramel, beige and grey are all great options but don’t be afraid to go for pastel colours (a pale blue coat has been on my wish list for ages) or small patterns like tweed, check, houndstooth or stripe.

You also don’t need to go designer with outerwear, the high street having some amazing jackets and coats for all tastes and styles. I’ve picked out a mix of designer faves as well as some high street hits so your perfect Spring coat buy is definitely in here somewhere.

What I’m Wearing: Coat by Nanushka (similar here), Trousers by Theory, Trainers by Veja, Top by Sézane, Jumper by H&M, Bag by Usisi, Earrings by Missoma.
