A Colourful Weekday Look

Everyone knows how much I love colour and pattern, but it’s so important to me to stay colourful in the winter. Between the chilly, foggy mornings and the evenings that are beginning a little too early in the day, I think we could all use a pop of colour every now and then to lighten up the day. Nothing can lift the spirits like a letterbox red, emerald green or sunny yellow. A bright coat will do just the trick and you won’t be able to hide the smile you’ve got on while wearing such a fun piece. Walking around London is a sea of black and grey but winter style doesn’t have to be plain- it’s entirely possible to be bold and colourful in a colder climate. Nothing puts a spring in my step on a cold day like a colourful weekday look.

The best way to be bright is to invest in some outerwear in all colours of the rainbow. A bright coat is fun and functional at the same time and making your coat your statement piece is easily adjusted. You can take if off when necessary (shops and offices are really pumping out the heating at the moment) and you won’t struggle trying to pair it with the right pair of pants or top. There is always a bit more flexibility when it comes to the outer layers, which makes a statement jacket that much more appealing!

A bright jacket is also a great opportunity to mix and match with textures and patterns. Although we all love a big bold colour statement, that doesn’t mean the fun has to be limited to just the colour. A bright pink can be cut with some white stripes, or a bold red with black dots. Texture is just as important. Are you thinking sherpa? Tweed? Flannel? The fabric opportunities are just as endless the colour choices.

TIP: No need to stick to a simple trench coat! Think blazer, shawl, zip-up, button down… the list goes on! Shop my vibrant coats below and find your colourful weekday look.

What I’m Wearing: Blazer by Cara Santana at Kohl’s, Dress by Reformation (similar here), Boots by Jimmy Choo, Bag by Hill and Friends, Sunglasses by Ray Ban.

  • The most memorable, happy evening... have you seen my stories? The @ilgufo_official show was just gorgeous, I want 12 more kids now 😂 🍼
  • Time to explore Florence this morning...
  • Ciao Firenze!! Off to dinner as recommended by you guys!! Can you tell I’m excited to be here... 🇮🇹
  • *Edit / update... when I say ‘island’ I mean reclaimed table, Ie small, and moveable!
A tour of our kitchen so far, and I’m trying to convince @mackenziehunkin we have space for an island in the middle, AKA my wine-sipping station. Hubby says no. But he likes to cook, so once I’ve put Honor to bed I love coming down, propping up a stool and pouring a little glass of 🍷 to unwind. What do you think of our carpentry skills?! 😂 We’ve got space right? Vote YES below so I can convince him! 🙋🏻‍♀️👍
  • ITALIA 🇮🇹 I’m coming for you! I can’t wait to visit one of my favorite countries this week! Firenze... where should we go? Tips please ♥️ 🍝 👠
  • Happy 2nd Birthday to our darling girl 🎂
Today we skipped having a big fancy party. Instead, we did all of Honor’s favourite things... jumped in muddy puddles, fed the goats, stroked a bunny and saw a newborn sheep at the farm (his name is Jacob), slid down a steep slide, baked a chocolate cake (and ate it), opened presents, read books, rode a giant rocking horse, danced to Peppa Pig, and ate more cake with her grandparents, auntie, uncle and cousins.
After I put her to bed, we heard her singing, ‘Happy Birthday to you’, over and over on the monitor ☺️
Family is everything, and I’m so grateful for mine. 💫
  • #ad Finally had a moment to reflect and get myself ready for the new decade. So I sat down to get my goals and hopes down on paper, and mixed myself a @ketelonebotanical spritz to sip! The overarching theme: taking extra time to switch off, and enjoying the small, everyday moments more. Like saying yes to the occasional vodka cocktail (bonus points when it has no added sugar or artificial sweeteners!). What kind of #BotanicalSpritz will you be drinking to toast the new decade? #ketelbotanical #CucumberandMint
  • Found the house from The Holiday... almost! *and yes I know they built it basically out of cardboard for the movie, which made me almost 😭 when I found out. But the pub was real! ♥️👍 🍻
