It’s no secret that jeans are my go-to outfit staple. When I’m not getting dolled up for a work event or heading to a workout class in exercise gear, you will most likely find me wearing jeans and a simple tee or sweater. I have a million different pairs that all get tons of wear, and I never seem to tire of them. I get a lot of questions about work style and how to look cute at the office without being inappropriate, so today I thought I’d show you a fun way to style jeans for work.
If you’re lucky enough to work in fashion or another creative field, you probably have a lot of leeway with your attire and you might already wear jeans to work all the time. But for those of you that work in a more formal, corporate field – you may have to be a bit more conservative with how you style them for casual Fridays or after hours events. My rule of thumb when styling jeans for work is to go for a pair that has absolutely no holes or raw edges. While I love some good distressing during my free time, it instantly makes a pair of jeans look way too casual for the office. Another tip is to go for a black or darker wash, as the lighter washes also tend to signal Summery, casual vibes.
When styling the rest of your outfit, go for simple, timeless pieces that pop. I absolutely love this simple sweater paired with this gorgeous rust-colored trench coat for a streamlined appearance but with an interesting color palette. Cool outerwear is definitely a great way to play with your work outfits. If your work dress code allows it, try a statement shoe or boot to top off your look – otherwise, go for a simple black boot or pump. And my final tip for pulling together this look? Swipe your hair back in a simple pony or bun to give a slightly sleeker feel. Shop my look below!
