How To Style Cowboy Boots With A Modern Twist

If you would’ve told me a few years ago that we’d be wearing cowboy boots again in 2019, I would’ve laughed. But lo and behold, here we are! The cowboy boots of today are sleeker and chicer than ever before, so much so that they’re quickly becoming a staple boot that all girls need to have in their closet. The trick for styling cowboy boots in a modern way for 2019 starts with which ones you choose to buy.

Personally, I think the best western boots of today are a bit simplified – not too much embroidery or studs, and in a solid color (though there are so many cute colors to choose from!). Whether you choose to go for knee high or ankle height, try the ones which have the least design elements going on. For instance, the ones I’m wearing have a really pretty embossed western print on them, but since they’re all black this really tones them down and makes them more appropriate for all types of occasions. Now, don’t get me wrong – there’s nothing wrong with a statement boot in bold colors or prints! But you may want to keep in mind that you might not be able to wear them in certain situations like work or date night. Investing in simple, sleek cowboy boots ensures that you have the most options for how and when to wear them.

My next tip? Dress them way up by styling them with luxurious items like a silk slip dress and a cashmere sweater. While they’ll of course look great with jeans, pairing them with more upscale pieces instantly elevates them for a totally unexpected look.
