The Luxe Fabric You Should Be Wearing To All Your Holiday Parties

December is the month of holiday parties, whether it’s with your friends, coworkers, or of course – your family. Different types of gatherings call for different types of looks, from more upscale formal events to casual fireside hangouts at home.

I recently went to a festive holiday dinner party with friends and wore this cool velvet suit with some fun accessories for a more luxe look. Your trusty little black dress is always a great option for holiday parties, but I wanted to try something a little different this year. Velvet is a great material for the holidays and I always love wearing it, but I’ve never owned an all-velvet suit! So cool and unexpected. I dressed things up quite a bit with sky high stilettos, a turban and a statement bag – but you could just as easily style this suit with flats and a blanket scarf to dress it down a bit for a more casual family gathering. Another way to wear it? Open, with a cute graphic tee underneath, and paired with sneakers.

I’m now convinced that every girl needs a velvet suit in her arsenal, especially for any upcoming holiday parties. Check out some of my favorite velvet pieces below!
