The weather is finally cooling down here in LA, and it’s beginning to feel like more like the holidays. It’s Honor’s first holiday season, so we’ve been having so much fun decorating and hanging out at home as a family. While Mackenzie and I love to get dressed up and head out on a date night every now and then, lately we’ve been loving getting cozy on the couch with one of our favorite movies, a takeaway pizza, ice cream, and red wine, of course.

When we rent a movie and grab our favorite pepperoni from down the road, we’re getting rewarded for spending a romantic night together, which is such a nice thought. What’s even cooler is that we can use those rewards we earn towards our next night out (when we actually feel like leaving the house!). Deciding on a rewards card can be tricky to figure out as there are so many options out there, but the Savor card was a no brainer for us since we can earn rewards by doing things we love and are already doing all the time – namely, food and fun!
A date night in is great for new parents, or for those chilly dark nights when you just can’t be bothered to change out of your comfiest plushy socks. We love to light a few candles and dim the lights, to set the mood and make it feel like a special evening even though we’re just at home. In terms of choosing a movie, we usually take turns – and 90% of the time actually end up enjoying what the other person picked. This tends to be a good strategy since everyone I know can never agree with their husband on what they should watch! Sometimes it’s just as fun as venturing out to try a new hotspot, and it’s so special that Honor can even join us if we catch her before bedtime.
