While I love experimenting with the latest trends, I always seem to go back to certain pieces that stand the test of time, regardless of the year or season. These are wardrobe items that may feel like a bit of an investment when you purchase them, but are just as relevant today as they were years ago when you bought them (and will continue to be years down the line, too). I call these pieces my “style uniform”, and in my opinion. it’s important for every girl to compile an artillery of staples that she loves and can combine in different ways to create the perfect, failsafe look. Maybe it’s your favorite leather jacket, your go-to distressed denim, or even your strappy statement heels. Regardless, understanding your own preferences and developing a unique style that expresses who you are can take time and effort. I am sharing some important pieces of my own style uniform that can be paired with a variety of on-trend items, or rocked together as one cohesive look.
A Blazer
There is so much you can do with a blazer, and so many different styles to keep in mind. A slim, fitted blazer is a classic piece for any wardrobe. But it doesn’t have to be strictly business! I am also loving the oversized blazer look, because it pairs perfectly with simple jeans and a tee. You’ll continue to wear the perfect blazer for work and play for years to come.
Black Skinnies
Trusty black skinny jeans are an absolute must. I love that you can dress them up with heels and a blazer, or down with a denim jacket and sneakers. They’re also suitable in both work and casual settings, making them the perfect versatile wardrobe piece.
Distressed Denim
Whether it’s a pair of boyfriend jeans, or a vintage inspired denim jacket, distressed denim is here to stay. It’s a great way to add a playful, relaxed component to your look. To keep things classic, err on the side of more minimally distressed pieces, as overly distressed is more of a trend that may come and go.
Booties
A great pair of booties (or a few) is an amazing investment. Flat, heeled, leather, or printed, booties can be paired with almost any outfit in your closet.
A Classic White Shirt
I cannot stress enough the importance of a nice white tee or button up shirt. It’s simple, comfy, and will never, ever go out of style. It can be dressed up for work with a fitted midi skirt, or even thrown on over a bikini at the beach. The options are endless!

Love everything you’ve included in your list and they are all such must haves. I literally just wrote a post today about a new way to style a blazer – just to show how versatile this piece is and how much we all need it! Love how you’re rocking the new Chriselle x JOA blazer as well! I ordered a jumpsuit from that collection and I can’t wait for it to arrive!
