Blush & Navy: How To Wear Light Layers For Winter

Winter in LA this year has been especially dry and warm, aside from a recent rainy day or two – which is unfortunate for those of us who love chilly weather and winter fashion. I love nothing more than layering up with cozy sweaters, oversized coats, patent boots and chunky-knit beanies. But I’ve hardly needed any of those this year! Instead, I’m going for light layers, and since it’s not quite cold enough for boots, I’ve been getting away with mules, sneakers, and other footwear that you wouldn’t dare to wear in other parts of the US at the moment.

I always love keeping things simple and feminine – so I loved pairing these two blush pieces together: this coat and these lovely mules. This look could be easily updated to survive a colder climate, just by switching out the mules for a pair of ankle or calf length booties (like these fun pink velvet ones), and a heavier coat (like this blush shearling one). I’ve also been living in these maternity jeans, which have been a lifesaver and go with everything that I want to wear. In no time I’ll be switching them out for normal jeans, can you believe it??
